Arthur Pic will drive in Formula Renault 3.5 Series for DAMS in 2012

Another member of the Pic family is aiming for the summit! Arthur is hoping to follow in the footsteps of Charles, who has recently obtained a seat in Formula 1. The younger of the brothers, who has just turned twenty, has signed with the DAMS team to race in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series in 2012. Arthur cut his teeth in this championship in 2011 and was not entirely happy with his overall results so he is determined to fight at the front next season. He has been very encouraged by his remarkable performance in the end-of-season tests with DAMS (2nd and 3rd in the two sessions). The French team, which won this year's GP2 Series with Romain Grosjean, is making its comeback to the FR 3.5 Series in 2012 with renewed ambitions, and its association with the younger of the Pics has already got off to a very promising start.
Jean-Paul DRIOT, DAMS CEO: "I'm delighted to welcome Arthur to the DAMS team for the 2012 FR 3.5 Series. We've had very strong links with the Pic family for a long time now (since Eric Bernard in F3000, who is Arthur's coach), but we never had the opportunity of working with Charles. We really hope to see Arthur joining his brother in F1 as soon as possible – and why not at the end of an excellent season with DAMS?"
Arthur PIC: "I'm very happy to have signed with DAMS for 2012, and I've got every confidence in our ability to achieve great results together. I'm going to work hard to fulfill the objectives we've set ourselves. The end-of-season tests on the Motorland Aragon circuit went off very well, and I stayed at the top end of the time sheets throughout the two sessions. I'm looking forward to driving the new car, which is more powerful and quicker than this year's model."
