Bridger Back On Track With Litespeed

3rd June 2009

2008 British F3 National Class champion Jay Bridger made a welcome return to the Cooper Tires F3 International Series this weekend and clearly demonstrated that, with his Litespeed F3 collaboration, he is back and ‘means business’.

Podiums at Rockingham there may not have been, but after only a few weeks with Litespeed re-engineering his Mygale, Kent’s racing star proved that he has the tenacity to manoeuvre his way through the pack to complete two solid drives of the day.

Gearbox issues in qualifying had resulted in Bridger starting the Northants meet positioned 18th in both races. Finishing 10th and 8th proved the grit and determination of one of the most popular drivers in the F3 paddock and validated his decision to take his car to Norfolk based Litespeed F3.

‘Only three weeks in and it’s no longer a question of whether the car & I will finish a race,’ said Bridger. ‘There is an intrinsic understanding within the team as to our goals and how to reach them. We have achieved our first target already and will be making significant developments throughout the season to fulfil the objectives we have set.’

Steve Kenchington, Director of Engineering at Litespeed was equally pleased, ‘We are delighted with Jay’s results this weekend. There is still some work to be done on the car, but it shouldn’t be long before we see him up on the podium where he fully deserves to be.’
