Coloni ready to tackle Spa with Vladimir Arabadzhiev and Alvaro Parente

After the summer break that sent GP2 on holiday for nearly one month Scuderia Coloni is ready to tackle one of the most fascinating events of the season. The Main Series caravan moved indeed to Spa-Francorchamps, one of the most demanding tracks in the world and also one of the drivers’ favourites. On the Belgian track the Italian team will have some news: besides Vladimir Arabadzhiev, racing in the number 21 car as usual, Alvaro Parente will take the wheel of the #20 Dallara-Renault.

The Coloni team is not new to Parente because the Portuguese driver already raced for the Italian outfit earlier this year in GP2 Asia, clinching one podium in Bahrain and being always among the quickest drivers on track. Besides this, Parente also has a great feeling with the Spa track: in GP2 he was 2nd in 2008 and won the feature race in 2009, showing that the fast layout fits his driving style very well.
The Spa weekend will be off on Friday at 11.55 with Free Practice, with Qualifying set for 15.55. On Saturday Race 1 will start at 15.40 while Race 2 will be held on Sunday at 10.35.

 Alvaro Parente: “I know the team and I think that I’ll have the conditions to try to get some good results. I’m looking forward to return to Spa-Francorchamps and to being able to give some good results to Coloni so I can thank them for the trust that the team and the Sponsors, particularly AdF, have in me”.

 Vladimir Arabadzhiev: “I raced in Spa with Formula Master but GP2 is a completely different beast, and this is even more true on a quick track like Spa. I don’t know what to expect but I will give my best as usual, hoping that weather won’t make things even more difficult”.
