Del Castello Benedetti and the Corvette Z06R look forward to Hungaroring GT Sprint

ROME-BASED RC MOTORSPORT IS READY TO CHALLENGE FERRARI IN HUNGARY
With less than two weeks to go before its fourth round of the season, the GTSPRINT SERIES is already eyeing a great weekend of excitement, and the RC Motorsport Corvette GTS3 is definitely set to have a big role in it.
The team, based in Rome, decided to rely on the services on Roberto Del Castello and Roberto Benedetti. Abruzzo-based Del Castello is one of the most experience of the championship. His resume is definitely high-profile, as he entered four seasons in the European Formula 2 series with March, Lola and Minardi. After having briefly lined-up in the F.3000 championship, he moved to sportscar racing and won the Italian Championship. Then he went racing touring cars, winning the N1 Class in the Italian Touring Car Championship and in the European Endurance Championship.
After a few races entered in the GT arena, he debuted in the 2009 SUPERSTARS SERIES with a Cadillac, the same car driven last year by Roberto Benedetti. The Rome-based racer has been a regular of the FG GROUP-promoted championship since 2006, when he ended up with a positive 6th-place finish aboard a BMW M5.
The RC Motorsport combo will be facing again the Ferrari 458 Italia (Ombra Racing Team) of Mario Cordoni at the Hungaroring, while a similar car driven by Ivan Capelli had dominated the GTS3 category at Mugello for Kessel Racing. Everything is set not only for an all-GTS3 battle: the Corvette pair is now standing in 6th place overall.
“The season didn't start in the best possible way - said RC Motorsport's Team Manager Alessandro Salvati - but at Mugello the Corvette began to show its full potential. We are getting more and more used to the new Hankook tires, which proved great, but there's plenty of work still to do. Our team is like a family. We strongly believe in the GTSPRINT and in the SUPERSTARS projects and we think they're the benchmark closed-wheel championships in Europe. Our drivers are really motivated and they will give all they can to try and fight for the front. We are also excited to announce that we will bring the Cadillac back to SUPERSTARS. We're putting a lot of effort into the car and it's going to be completely revamped in order to reach the highest possible performance level".
