Idafar Produces Strong F3 Test Pace At Snetterton

Formula 3 hopeful Menasheh Idafar rejoined leading British F3 International Series squad T-Sport at Snetterton Circuit yesterday, Wednesday, 11th November, for the first of two days of general testing at the Norfolk track.

Having sealed third position overall in the 2009 Formula Renault UK Winter Championship during the final round last weekend at Rockingham in Northamptonshire, the 18-year-old chose to make a swift return to action at the wheel of an F3 car and impressed the Brackley team with his pace.

Six weeks since his last outing in one of T-Sport’s National Class Dallaras, Menasheh re-adapted well to the Formula 3 driving style and ended the day with a best lap of 1m01.9 seconds. Impressively, this was just two 10ths of a second away from the time produced by Championship Class runner Gabriel Dias, last year’s National Class Vice-Champion.

The track was extremely busy throughout with a mixture of F3, Formula Renault and Formula Ford cars taking part in the general test and, as such, it was difficult for any driver to string together a run of consistent laps. Nonetheless, Menasheh was very happy and satisfied with his performance.

“It’s been a very good day”, said the British-born Bahraini, “At the beginning I had to get back into the style of driving the F3 car, after racing a Formula Renault for the last two weekends, but as I did more laps and gained more confidence it became very comfortable and I could push.”

Menasheh will be back at the wheel of his T-Sport F3 car at Snetterton today, Thursday, 12th November, for what is likely to be his last day of testing this year.
