Imola Hosts F.Renault 2.0 Alps Third Round
23rd May 2012
Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS si is ready for its third round of the season which will take place in Imola this weekend (26th and 27th May). The International Championship reserved to the 2 liters formulas will be back to Italy, after the opening round of Monza and the recent venue in Pau, with three different winners. Two wins for the young Russian Daniil Kvyat, driver of the Red Bull Junior Team and racing with Koiranen Motorsport colors. He dominated both Monza races. One win each instead for the Frenchmen Norman Nato (RC Formula) and Paul-Loup Chatin (Tech1 Racing), undisputed kings on the street track of Pau.
A perfect balance thug in Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS, which season started with a staggering 32 cars figure. Quantity but also quality. In Imola these figures will be increate by a twelfth team. The Mark Burdett Team will line a car for the Brazilian rookie Gabriel Casagrande.
The challenge to Chatin is already launched. Who will be the next winner? Good impressions so far also form two other drivers from France: Matthieu Vaxiviere and William Vermont. Then there is the 17 y/o British Melville McKee, that just in Imola in 2011 seized both races, and capable in Monza to finish second with Interwretten Team.
The Italians comeback i salso awaited, with Simone Iaquinta (Team Torino Motorsport) motivated by big expectations after a brilliant first round in Monza where he showed the right skills for a podium finish.
Aurélien Panis (son of the most famous Olivier, with 159 F1 races in his curriculum) will also be back. For him in Pau a good sixth overall still with RC Formula, while also the Colombian Oscar Tunjo, part of the Lotus F.1 Team programme, should be of the venue.
