Macau finds sponsor for 2012 Grand Prix

This year's Macau Grand Prix, the traditional end-of-season Formula Three race in which Formula One world champions such as Michael Schumacher and Mika Hakkinen have previously starred, has secured a title sponsor for 2012.
 
Sociedade de Jogos de Macau,  a casino and gambling firm that is part of SJM Holdings, will sponsor the Formula Three race and the World Touring Car Championship event, held on the same weekend, for a second successive year.

 
Ambrose So, chief executive of SJM Holdings, said: “Rooted in Macau for half a century, we have been involved in the development and growth of the Macau Grand Prix from a local experience into an international sports festival."
 
Winners of the street Formula Three race in the past have included Ayrton Senna, David Coulthard and Schumacher although nine of the last 20 winners have not made it to Formula One.
