Marussia F1 Team comes to Chelsea AutoLegends
16th June 2012
LDC, one of the UK’s leading mid-market private equity organisations, has added its weight to this year’s Chelsea AutoLegends event, bringing its involvement in F1 to the event through its association with the Marussia F1 Team.
Chelsea AutoLegends returns for the third year and is set to take place on September 2nd. The event will support Walking with the Wounded, a charity that has been supported by LDC since its formation, and is expected to see 15,000 people flock to the Royal Hospital Chelsea for a motorsport and automotive extravaganza. Coming just weeks after the end of the London Olympics, Chelsea AutoLegends’ themes this year include Stars’ Cars, 70s Cool, Le Mans and Formula 1 celebration tributes, as well as a Castrol Women in Motorsport arena, Techno Park and Restoration Corner.
Rob Pendleton, marketing director for LDC, noted: “LDC and Marussia F1 Team, this year’s Chelsea AutoLegend’s Formula 1 partner, are proud to support Walking with the Wounded. This charity does a great job in raising not only funds but also the profile of wounded servicemen and women that require re-training and re-education to help them after they have left the Armed Forces.”
Chelsea AutoLegends’ Max Wakefield enthused: “We’re delighted to have LDC partnering with us at this year’s event. Not only does the company have a close association with Marussia F1 Team but it also supports Walking with the Wounded, a charity close to our hearts. We look forward to welcoming LDC to The Royal Hospital Chelsea.”
