Ocean Racing Technology on track at historical Monza
10th September 2010
For the final round of the GP2 Main Series in Europe
The GP2 Main Series Championship reaches the end of the European season this weekend and before moving on to the final round at Abu Dhabi at the time of the Formula 1 event on the 14th of November, the GP2 teams have an appointment with a very historical circuit, Monza. Despite some not very flattering results of late, Ocean Racing Technology continues to display a performance level that puts them among the fastest of the championship. Their drivers, Fabio Leimer and Max Chilton, have proved that they have the potential to secure good performances on all types of circuits.
In the face of adversity, Leimer remains confident but careful... "All in all, our results do not give justice to the hard work the team is doing," the Swiss driver regrets, "We are performing but we've been overwhelmed by different sort of problems and race facts which have kept us away from the points. In Monza, I'm looking forward to eventually having the opportunity to run without trouble and to secure good results because we deserve it.
Max Chilton considers Monza to be one of the biggest challenges of the season. Like his team-mate, the British driver is hoping to finish the European season on a high note. "It is a fast circuit which I know rather well. In a championship where the lap times are so close the least technical advantage you can find can make a big difference. That's why I hope we'll find the right set-up as soon as we put the car on the track. It will be the secret to a successful qualifying which is the first mandatory step to enjoying two good races."
he skies over Monza should be not very cloudy and the maximum temperatures could exceed 25°C. The two GP2 Main Series races will be disputed on September 11 and 12 and will be broadcasted by Eurosport on Saturday at 4:45 pm and Sunday at 9:00 am.
