Roach Manufacturing at Goodwood

Racecar customer - Stuart Roach of Roach Manufacturing - starred in one of the most exciting races at this year's Goodwood Revival

Race report below:

Stuart Roach (Alexis Ford Mk2) raced to 2nd place after a race long battle with Robin Longdon (Lola Ford Mk2) in the Chichester Cup at the Goodwood revival. The race was run in two parts due to an aircraft emergency red flagging the race part the way through.

The first section of the race was hard fought with Stuart and Robin regularly swapping places with Derek Walker (Terrier Ford) as they pulled out at the front of the field.

After the restart the race was to run for another 5 laps, Stuart and Robin pulled away from Derek and went on to fight their own battle. The race was intense between the two drivers and Stuart was lucky to recover his Alexis from a very sideways moment (only one front wheel still on the tarmac!) at Woodcote on the penultimate lap, to chase down Robin, setting the fastest lap of the race in the process and finish only 0.2secs behind him.
