(SPEEDWAY 1)

SOMERSET bid to maintain a strong record in the Premier League Fours when their quartet takes to the track at Peterborough on Sunday.
The Rebels won the event in 2005, their debut in the competition, and have gone on to reach the Final every year since with 2011 being the only time they finished off the podium.
Promoter Debbie Hancock said: The key to the competition is to keep your part of the scoreboard ticking over, and avoid finishing fourth in any heat. It might seem an obvious thing to say, but if you can keep the scoring the points it keeps the momentum going - the minute you run a last place you put pressure upon yourselves.
You could make a case for any of the eight teams taking part to win the tournament, and Somerset have as good a chance as any of them to come away as Champions. We have an excellent quartet, all of who are capable of winning races, so who knows - this might just be our year.

(SPEEDWAY 2)

KRZYSZTOF Kasprzak will make his Poole comeback on his 28th birthday in the Pirates home clash with Belle Vue next Wednesday.
The reigning champions have been granted approval for their revised team declaration which sees Kasprzak replacing fellow Pole Adrian Miedzinski.
Promoter Matt Ford said: I am delighted to welcome Krzysztof back into the fold. He is the sort of quality rider that we needed to replace Adrian, and his inclusion in the side from next Wednesday will be a perfect boost to us as we look to kick on from our position at the top of the table.
We have some big meetings ahead and we all know that nothing is won until October, but Krzysztof will, I believe, blend well into the side and give us as much, if not more, than what Adrian gave us.

(SPEEDWAY 3)

SCUNTHORPE made it two away wins in two nights with a 47-43 victory at local rivals Sheffield to move into the Premier Leagues top six.
Josh Auty starred on his old home track with 14 from five rides, whilst Thomas Jorgensen who failed to score on his last visit to Owlerton carded paid-13 as the Tigers saw both Emiliano Sanchez and Richard Hall hurt.
Scorpions boss Richard Hollingsworth said: Weve waited for this for a long time. Ive just spoken to one long-term Scunthorpe fan and he said he thought that we never would see the day that Scunthorpe won at Sheffield.
For once, the luck went our way, and we hope Emiliano and Richard are OK. Weve had lots of things go against us so far this season, but there are signs that our bad luck is going away. Gary (Irving) was brought down in Emilianos accident, but was fine. Its the second night in succession weve had riders get up from nasty looking crashes.
