SCUNTHORPE promoter Rob Godfrey is confident of beating the recent adverse weather to stage the inaugural Christmas Cracker meeting on Sunday.Premier League Riders' Champion Ricky Ashworth has joined the line-up along with Elite League star Ben Barker and comeback man Adam Roynon.Godfrey said: "We have a motorway blade on site plus four tractors to work on the track if necessary. We won't think twice about working every day."

 RYE House will be the venue for the second staging of the Ben Fund Bonanza,which will open the new season on March 14.2009 winner Leigh Adams, British star Tai Woffinden and reigning WorldChampion Jason Crump - subject to fitness - have already agreed to race.Benevolent Fund secretary Paul Ackroyd said: "Jason's support from the outset has been one of the biggest factors in pushing ahead with these events."

SWINDON asset Mads Korneliussen will return to Blunsdon next season after spending 2009 on loan at Elite League rivals Peterborough.The popular Dane joins Leigh Adams and Grzegorz Zengota as a confirmed top-five starter for the Robins.Co-owner Gary Patchett said: "Mads has consistently upped his average whilst riding for Swindon and we're confident he can improve on his starting figure of 6.30 next season."

NEWPORT have completed their team building with the signing of club legendCraig Watson.The Australian will return after a year out having suffered a shatteredupper right leg in the very first meeting of 2009.Wasps owner Steve Mallett said: "Craig has been a fans' favourite since hewas part of the 1997 Wasps septet that relaunched speedway in the city. Hewill be keen to make up for lost time."
