Solid Debut For Trayler And MotoDex Performance First Suzuki At Snetterton

28th May 2012

MotoDex Performance First Suzuki rider Jesse Trayler put in a sterling ride in his debut outing in the Metzeler National Superstock 1000cc Championship and only narrowly missed out on his first Championship points.

Competing at the Snetterton circuit in Norfolk, Trayler was also having his first race of the season so was giving away a huge amount of track time to his rivals but he went about his task in a professional manner, ultimately reaping the rewards.

29th in qualifying, Trayler from Dunmow in Essex got quicker throughout the weekend and this was obvious in the 14-lap race where he was able to advance significantly. A good start saw him jump up the order to 23rd at the end of the first lap and from here on in until the end of the race, Jesse was able to pick up a number of riders in front of him. Lapping almost a second quicker than what he had done in qualifying, by mid-race distance he was on the edge of the points and although he ultimately missed out in 16th place, he was only a quarter of a second adrift of a championship point at the chequered flag.

Jesse Trayler:  "The race was fantastic, we got off to a really good start and just rode round the outside of a whole group at the first corner. There was a group about two seconds up the road that gave me a really good target to fix on so I just focused on reeling them in. I managed to get amongst them and very nearly managed to score our first point at our first meeting. I'm over the moon and just want to thank MotoDex, Linxcel, Performance First, Hel, Grays Centre, Prestige Motor Vehicles and Crescent for building such a brilliant bike, and everyone who's helped me to get on track this year; it's just great to be back."

Tony Dexter, Team Owner:  "We came here without high expectations after just two track days and a new bike. Jesse hasn't been race fit and here we are, faster every session by a second each time. We started off 29th, finished 16th and just two tenths off a championship point. I think that's a dream debut and the team have been great bearing in mind it didn't exist three weeks ago, we've got a great little team and I think we can look forward to points at Knockhill."
