Swiftune supports Masters Pre 66 Touring Cars

Renowned BMC engine tuning specialist Swiftune will add its support to the Masters Historic Racing Pre-66 Touring Car races this season by offering a ‘Mini Trophy’ within that Championship.

The company, run by prodigiously successful Mini racer Nick Swift, will provide a unique polished alloy trophy cylinder head to the driver of the most successful Mini at the end of the 2012 season, and it is sure to be a keenly-contested prize. Swiftune began in 1965, founded by Nick’s father Glyn, himself a rapid Mini racer, and has an enviable reputation of powering champions, such as six back-to-back Mini Miglia titles.

Swiftune builds A-series engines for all manner of racing cars, such as historic Formula Junior, Austin Healey Sprites, MG Midgets and Austin A35s as well as Minis. Swiftune aims to produce race-winning performance and superb reliability for A-series engines, with a research and development programme, on the track and dyno, plus extensive feedback from its own racing programme. That means Swiftune’s experience is unrivalled and always up-to-the minute with the latest technology and developments.

Masters Historic Racing Event Manager Rachel Bailey said: ‘We are very pleased that Swiftune is supporting the championship this season and we are very pleased to see an increasing number of Minis coming out to race.  We are aware of a number of cars that have changed ownership over the winter and of drivers who are planning on returning to racing after some time away.’
