West Tech gains backing for National Class bid

23rd January 2010

Team West-Tec's plans to field a two-car squad in the National Class of the Cooper Tires British F3 Series have received a boost with the announcement of an extended relationship with lubricants manufacturer Motul.

The striking Motul livery introduced to British F3 by West-Tec last season will be a feature of both cars and the deal will, says the team's John Miller, be a big boost: "We are absolutely delighted to be able to continue and build our successful team sponsorship with Motul, as it is truly one of motorsport's iconic brands. It allows us to keep driver budgets to a minimum and also provides us with Motul's superb range of products, as well as analysis and laboratory facilities to allow us to maximise performance on track."

Motul's UK importer is Pace Products, whose spokesman Gareth Burnett added: "Last year we decided to start a new programme with Team West-Tec, with an eye on a good, long-term relationship. Therefore it was only natural to continue and expand on that relationship for 2010, when we look forward to seeing the team add to their record."

Added Romain Fabre, of Motul: "We were very pleased to start our association with Team West-Tec in 2009 and the cars looked fantastic with the Motul logos. We are looking forward to seeing them race to success in 2010."

British F3 is sponsored by US tyre manufacturer Cooper Tire and is further supported by Sunoco Racing Fuels, Anglo American Oil Company and Mirror.co.uk. The opening rounds of the 30-race championship are at Oulton Park over the Easter weekend (3-5 Apr).
