YourRacingCar.com reveals 2012 BTCC motor racing campaign

Members of the original fan funded project YourRacingCar.com, which has been a steadfast feature of the British Touring Car Championship paddock since 2009, have had to wait until now to learn the car and driver that they will be supporting in the 2012 season.

 
 
Max Coates has been recruited for a multi-year project with the ambitious crew from Milton Keynes who, having participated in the Ginetta G50 Cup, Renault Clio Cup and British Touring Car Championship in recent years, have elected to return to the Ginetta family to back Max in the Ginetta Supercup.
 
 
 
Speaking about the project, YRC founder Hannah James said “Going back Ginetta was an easy decision to make. It’s far and away the best value championship from a fans perspective and in reality that’s all that matters to us. It’s exciting, the cars are fantastic and basing ourselves at the heart of the BTCC support paddock means we can offer more access to our members than ever before”.
 
 
 
Hannah admits that Max has been a target for YRC since mid way through the 2011 season when his dogged determination, despite budgetary constraints, was obvious for all to see, including YRC members.
 
 
 
“Our activities have always been lead as far as possible by our fans interests. Max is totally different from any driver I’ve met before and having an opportunity to help support someone with his spirit, not to mention talent, is something I know our members will be thrilled about”.
 
 
 
Max is equally enthusiastic about his tie up with YourRacingCar.com saying "Partnering with YRC this year is a great opportunity. Having fans is an important part of being a racing driver and this unique supporters club gives me the opportunity to do just that.

 
 
The work that YRC has done over the past few years has been incredible and the people behind it, the management within YRC and the members themselves, are fully committed to the group. For me it is a chance to increase my relationships with fans and I can't wait to get going with it."
 
 
 
With just seven weeks before the start of the championship the YRC crew will be introducing Max to their members and are hoping to recruit many more before Max hits the track for the first time carrying the pictures of every YRC member at Brands Hatch on March 31st.
 
 
 
Motorsport fans can join YourRacingCar.com online and benefits of club membership include free tea, coffee and hot chocolate trackside at each of the British Touring Car Championship events in 2012, discounts of BTCC race day tickets and their choice of picture to be displayed on the roof of the YRC race car throughout the season.
