Peter Lings is an independent design consultant specialising in the more technical aspects of automotive and particularly powertrain engineering, including stress analysis and gear tooth design as well as much work in areas such as cam profile design, crankshaft design and engine balancing.

His clients include major motor manufacturers and larger consulting houses who use his services on a subcontract basis, as well as many organisations in the upper echelons of motor racing, rallying and historic vehicle remanufacture. Prior to going solo in 1991, he had amassed 30 years of experience in this type of work while employed by 'Jaguar Cars', where he was closely involved in their return to involved in their return to motor racing in the mid 80's and later was one of the small team who created the original 4WD V12 XJ220 concept car.

He had acted as a technical advisor to D.R.Engineering on many and varied projects including the design of all of the L.S.D.'s and gearboxes which are currently on offer.
