Welcome to the home of Wycombe Summit MTB Club.

We are a mountain bike club organising rides in the hills and trails around High Wycombe and the Chilterns. Each month we hold a ride for prospective new members as detailed in the Rides section. Members also organise weekday night rides and other weekend rides. The club offers coaching to its members to help them improve biking skills.

The club leases a wood from the Forestry Commission and organises summer evening XC races between May and September. For further details and an entry form please see the Races section.

Our forum is where we post rides and chat about the club and this area is reserved for members.

Berko meet for next Club Ride
31/08/2008

Sunday 7 Sept is the monthly Club Ride, a tour of Ashridge and Whipsnade from the public car park adjacent to Berkhamsted golf club and the war memorial just north east of Berkhamsted (TL005092).

Lying on the northern edge of our patch, this varied ride has it all including woodland singletrack, extensive bridleways, rooty sections, killer climbs and exhilarating descents. From the car park, we head north past the impressive Ashridge Estate House, through Little Gaddesden and Studham to Whipsnade (avoiding the wildlife). Turning west to Ivinghoe via Edlesborough, we head south through the picturesque village of Aldbury before returning to the start point across Ashridge Common. The ride should last 3.5 - 4 hours depending on conditions and progress on the day.

Club Rides are primarily designed as an introductory ride for new and prospective members. Consequently the ride will be run at a 'social' pace and will regroup at regular intervals to ensure the group stays together i.e. may be stop/start. We will split the group if numbers are on the high side and subject to the availability of another ride leader.
