Donington Park - October
Donington Park - October 4 – 5 2008. TR4 – Malcolm Verey/Mark Griffiths Weather was cold and very windy on Saturday. It was wet for a start on Sunday, brightening up after lunch. HSCC Historic Road Sports. Morgan +8 driven by Oliver Phillips in on Saturday. Running 6th overall until a Lotus Elan made contact, inflicting a little damage which required a pit stop to check extent of tyre contact. Went on to finish. GTSCC Chris Levett-Prinsep & Joel Wykeham drove Chris’ Healey, finishing 16th overall, 3rd in class GT3. Malcolm Verey & Mark Griffith drove the TR4 well, finishing just behind Chris LP & Joel. Chris & Beverly Phillips shared the drive in Beverly’s MGB finishing in a creditable position and staying out of trouble. HSCC Guards Trophy.
Picture above is the Corvette Stingray of Malcolm Verey. The weather played a major part in both the qualifying and race conditions of this event on Sunday. Qualifying took place with 3 laps behind the pace car as the rain and spray on track was so bad as to hamper visibility By the time the race then commenced, the rain had cleared but the autumnal sunshine, being very low on the horizon made conditions just as hazardous.
